Andreas Monitzer

Andreas Monitzer was born in Vienna, Austria and is still living there. He is a former student of the Vienna University of Technology, having completed the Computer Graphics masters after the Bachelor of Software & Information Engineering. Currently, he is studying Game Engineering and Simulation at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, finishing (hopefully) at the end of June 2010.

Andreas was introduced to the Adium project via the Google Summer of Code 2006, where he implemented an XMPP plugin, which was later discarded due to problems outside his reach. He attended again at Google Summer of Code 2007, where he tried to do it all over again, but this time avoiding that particular problem. This project lead to several contributions to the upstream library libpurple.

Additional contributions include a new ssl plugin using Apple's Security.framework instead of openssl, including certificate viewing and verification. He is now responsible for XMPP support in Adium and also the XMPP advocate on the team.

Apart from doing party photography, he enjoys cooking and does spend a lot of time at a local Jujutsu club.
