Description

the UI for adding a myspace IM account prompts you to put in your user ID which is ambiguous at best. it should prompt you for your login email address.

What's a good text to use? "MySpace Login Email" seems too long, and "Login Email" seems odd.

I would agree with changing it meantime to email. First time i tried setting it up I too was guilty of putting ID and not getting on first try. I tried email second though. how about simply "email"?

when you login to myspace that's what they prompt you. email/password so it's already familiar to the user. And simple and not weird sounding. Anyone who uses myspace won't be confused by what "email" means since it's already the login format they are accustomed to.

(In [21244]) Specify the user name field for MySpaceIM as "Email". MySpace apparently has both user names and emails, and only one is valid for the IM client. Fixes #8085.

Should this (above) be merged to 1.1? It's got a new string :/

I think it'd be beneficial to be merged, even if it didn't get translated.

Reopening until merging is decided.

Hmm, there's already a localized string of "Email:" somewhere. Different context, though, and that stupid colon is in the way.

(In [21306]) Merged [21244]: Specify the user name field for MySpaceIM as "Email". MySpace apparently has both user names and emails, and only one is valid for the IM client. Fixes #8085. This adds a localizable string to adium-1.1, but 'Email' is an English word with very wide understanding in other languages, so I don't think this is a major problem. Also, the myspace.com page is not localized and says "E-mail" for the login regardless of system localization settings.
