Dragging the contact list between vertically-stacked displays

Reported by: jenniferm2 Owned by: nobody
Milestone: Adium 1.3 Component: Adium UI
Version: Severity: normal
Keywords: vertical stack display drag over menu bar Cc:
Patch Status:

Description

If you use two displays arranged in the Displays preference pane so that they are stacked vertically and the bottom display has the menu bar, you cannot drag the contact list from the bottom display to the top display—i.e, "over" the menubar. The cursor will travel to the top display, but the contact list will remain on the bottom display, just beneath the menubar. The contact list will travel horizontally as the cursor is moved on the top display. You can drag the contact list from the top display to the bottom.

If the menubar is attached to the top display, there is no problem dragging the contact list between the displays at all.

In case the description is not clear, I recorded a brief video of the behavior: http://www.personal.psu.edu/jsm158/tmp/adium_drag.mov

Assuming this works fine for other windows in OS X, Adium should as well.

I just tested this and it appears to work fine with 1.3svn [23103] on OS X Leopard 10.5.2. I assume this was fixed for Leopard at some point.
