cant add yahoo contact

Hi

I can't seem to add a yahoo contact to my yahoo account with Adium 0.89.1

The error message reads:
Could not add buddy xxxxx@… to group Friends to the server list on account yahoo_id.

I've entered the person's yahoo account (like an email address) and an alias.

Is there something else I should be doing?

Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't, but I don't often add users to my Yahoo buddy list.

I am having that problem right now. First I get the message "Could not add buddy xxxxx@… . . . " Then the next time I looked the contact showed up

in my list - I havent managed to message that person yet so not sure what is up.

I have the same problem, although I see the buddy added to list afterwards, but on next log in it's gone.

How are you entering their contact name? Is it "bob" or "bob@…" ?

I'm entering the contact name as "bob@…"

you need to enter your contact as 'bob', in adium we add the @yahoo.com for you so all you need to do is enter the first part and it should work

Although, without wanting to sound rude. This issue is 3 months old, a more prompt response would have been preferred. I had all but forgotten the issue - not having many yahoo contacts - it was urgent at the time. Not having a response, I gave up.

Having said that, I understand you are busy and I do appreciate the response.

Adium is awesome!

we're sorry it took so long, we're trying to get things cleaned up and get more people involved so in the future responses will hopefully happen much quicker, but otherwise I'm glad we could help resolve your issue
