Too Many Growl Notifications on Login Due to Bonjour

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: nobody
Milestone: Adium X 1.0 Component: Service/Other
Version: Severity: normal
Keywords: Cc:
Patch Status:

When I first open Adium (or wake up my computer from sleep), I get growl notification that every user currently connected via Bonjour has connected. Given that I'm at a school with a lot of Mac users, this leads to a pretty annoying glut of growl notifcations.

Quick addendum: An easy fix to this would be to allow the user to set the group-specific "When a member of Bonjour signs on" event to "None", assuming that group- and user- specific events override and do not just supplement the general preferences.

It sounds like Bonjour contacts are too slow to show up to be in our sanity time. We should fix this somehow...

Ya, Growl is the symptom, I think the slowness is the real cause and we should fix that. I agree durin

(In [14840]) As we do with Gaim accounts (but don't want to force on all services since a service might potentially be able to tell us when it no longer needs silenced contact updates while signing on), silence bonjour updates for 18 seconds after connecting and delay list object notifications until a brief period of inactivity occurs.
