Evan Schoenberg

Biography

Evan Schoenberg, M.D., lead developer of Adium, is originally from Ocala, Florida. After an eight-year assignment to Jacksonville, he grew up in  Anniston, Alabama, the city's only TekJew. He graduated summa cum laude from  Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, in May, 2005 with a major in  Neuroscience and a minor in  Computer Science. Evan completed medical school at the  Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and is now in residency training with the Tulane University Department of Ophthalmology in New Orleans, LA.

He used to have a pretty significant overbite, but the state of orthodontistry being what it is, he now just has an overfondness for black cherry Jell-O and key lime pie, a highly probable but thus far undiagnosed case of ADHD, a beautiful fiancée, and a strong aversion to rabid ninja attack monkeys. He obsesses over coding much as bricks don't.

Evan is owner of  Regular Rate and Rhythm Software, through which he develops both medical software for the iPhone such as  MediMath and the remote control program  Rowmote. He is co-owner of  Saltatory Software, which currently offers  Family, a straightforward genealogy program. He is a developer for the open source notifications system  Growl and the open source instant messaging client  Pidgin, the core of which (libpurple) powers most of Adium's protocols, as well a developer of the open source RSS reader  Vienna.
