How can we help you?

I am a user, and I want to report a problem concerning the localization that I'm using

• Create a Trac ticket
  
  • Report the language and the version you are using and choose "Localization" as the component.
    If it's hard for you to explain the issue only with words, make a screenshot and attach it to the ticket; if you want, you can use your native language for the ticket description.

I am a user, and I would like to give a hand in fixing/updating the localization that I'm using

• Check if your language has already a person working on it (a maintainer)

• If there is an active maintainer
  
  •  Contact the translator (e.g., via Google Groups), and tell him/her that you are willing to help
• If there is not an active maintainer
  • Send an e-mail to Evan Schoenberg, and tell him that you want to be an Adium translator for your language

I am going to start translating and need to set up my computer to do so

1. Install XCode
   
   • You can download it from  Apple's site or get it from your MacOSX install DVD
2. Install the ShortcutRecorder plug-in for XCode and Interface Builder
   
   1. Download it: ShortcutRecorder.ibplugin.zip
   2. Double click the .zip file to decompress it, if it does not do so automatically
   3. Move it to /Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/Library/Interface Builder/Plugin-ins
   4. Note: You could just double click it, and it would work in Interface Builder, but it still wouldn't work in iLocalize without proper installation
3. Install iLocalize
   
   • You can download it from  Arizona Software's site
4. Get an iLocalize license serial number
   
   • You can have it by sending an e-mail to Evan Schoenberg, telling him that you want to join the translators' team
5. Get a Google account and subscribe to Adium Translators' Google Group, to keep in touch with the Translators' team
   • You can create an account on  Google Groups' website
6. Get a Trac account, to be notified about issues pertaining your localization
   • You can create an account filing the registration form

I am an Adium translator, and I want to know what I have to do about the forthcoming version

• Current translation efforts are towards version 1.4

• If you already know how to use iLocalize and XCode's Interface Builder
  • Translate Adium updating these .nib files
• If you don't know how to use iLocalize and XCode's Interface Builder
  • Translate Adium following this Step-by-step guide
    Remember that you can always ask for help in the  Adium Translators' Google Group, if something is unclear
