Text Input Resizing

hi guys. recently the text input field resizing bug was fixed and well it created another in my opinion. Personally, I liked the 1 character high input field in the message windows. Now, I cant get it to be 1 character high for anything. If u send a message more than 1 character high it changs te input field size to whatever it was, and from then on its that size, I have to resize the input field to 1 character every single time i open a message window.

Instead of trying to fix the bug itself, Do you think it would be possible guys to put a option in the preferences menu to set the hight of that field and have it default to that size every time ?? This would allow for those people who want the bigger text field to have it as well.
