Can't Format Screen Name in AIM

When I set my screenname to be formatted (crapsitandrew to CraPs iT Andrew). I do this by clicking my name in the contact window, then changing the Display Name. I also tried in the Preference window and changing the alias. Adium shows my SN as CraPs iT Andrew now. However, when I added myself to check, my screen name remained un-formatted.

Is there a way to format my screen name, or am I doing something wrong?

Type it as you want it in the Accounts preferences.
