MSN message timeout error and difficulty with invisible contacts

Using Adium X 1.0.5 on Mac OS X 10.4.10.

Can log-in and receive messages in GoogleTalk and MSN reliably, but cannot send messages in MSN. Can only send messages reliably in GoogleTalk. Receive following message a minute or two after attempting to send message in MSN: "A message may not have been sent; a timeout occurred." Also get the following message often: "Could not send; a connection error occurred." Sometimes Adium has difficulty maintaining a connection to MSN server.

When chatting with invisible contacts, contact does not receive messages sent more than 3 or 5 minutes after I receive their last message to me.

Current MSN settings are: login server: messenger.hotmail.com, port: 1863 Do these need correction?

Apologies for the long log file, I don't know what it means. My error happens multiple times between 14:50:45 and 20:21:54
