Partial transparency in message styles don't work after installing Safari 3

Partial transparency in message styles (like a custom background, for example) don't work after installing the Safari 3 beta. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the new Safari because reverting to the old version 2 fixes the issue.

Setting the opacity to anything other than 100% or 0% has no effect on the chat window's appearance. I've confirmed this with every message style Xtra I have installed.
