that's good :) can you add a small icon (like a duck ? :-)) before the 'all', it'll look prettier :-) (as all the contacts have an icon, this ALL should have one too)

This behavior matches how iTunes's browser behaves; I think it's intuitive to be able to select it for seeing all contacts. A savvy user will also note that no-selection has the same affect, but that's fine.
I've modified All to say All (1 Contact) or All (# Contacts), which makes it a more useful and information item.
