Cannot register Jabber accounts with Adium

The wiki page for Creating Jabber Accounts says that Adium "automatically handles registering new Jabber accounts with the Jabber server on most servers." However, when I tried to use Adium to create a new account on the jabber.org server, I was disconnected from the server and never prompted to register my account. I ultimately used gaim to register the account, and now Adium can connect, but it does not seem to be able to register new accounts. It would be great if this could be fixed; or perhaps a Register button could be added to Jabber account preferences, similarly to gaim's register button when adding a Jabber account.

What version of Gaim did you use?

(In [15768]) Jabber.org response to an unregistered account has changed; we now prompt to register the account if we receive an authentication failure message. Fixes #3752"

I've followed exactly the instructions on CreatingJabberAccounts and cannot get a new account registered on either jabber.org or jabber.com. This is with a clean ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 folder on a fresh install of 10.4.7 PPC with all updates installed.

I wasn't going to be the jerk who goes around opening closed tickets but I think this one should be re-opened by a dev/admin until someone can verify that new jabber accounts can in fact be registered in the 1.0 betas.

Still cannot create a new jabber account in 1.0b4, I'm going to be the jerk who re-opens this ticket with the hope it won't get overlooked. I get a:

"polymnemonicisjohn@… (Jabber) : Error Not Authorized"
