Unable to connect to Yahoo via Proxy

Expanding on ticket #13208, I am able to connect to Yahoo when not using a proxy setting. OS is 10.6.1

Adium is connecting to proxy server based on netstat/lsof output, but is not able to get a valid SSL connection to login.yahoo.com(error reported in Accounts window).

Other clients connect correctly.

adding myself as another user facing the same problem when using proxy server. i haven't tried without proxy as yet. i will try later today and update if that works.

Just wanted to add myself to the chain. I also have been unable to connect to Yahoo. I get the same SSL connection error message when using my "system wide HTTP" proxy. I believe it got "broken" in beta10 as I tried that one and it didn't work. I have since had to downgrade back to 1.4b9 (Fri, Aug 21, 2009) so that my Yahoo works. I just tried Beta12 and it's still broken. Thanks!

If it worked in b9 but not b10, then this was likely broken by libpurple. Please file a ticket in their  trac.

I believe the issue may be in Adium The newest version of libpurple adds a feature "Use account proxy for SSL connections" to the protocol. You can see this in the libpurple changelog. Since this option doesn't exist in Adium I believe this could be the issue. I downloaded and Tested Gaim and if I DO NOT check that option I get the same SSL validation error.

Could someone please check into this? I haven't been able to use any Adium Beta since 1.4b9 just tried b15 and it's still not working.

We should check into this new libpurple option that tambu mentioned prior to 1.4 - if it is indeed a problem with our implementation of the Yahoo protocol with proxied SSL connections, then it's our regression to fix :)
