GTalk came out awhile back, and it is supported by Adium. GTalk supports the updating and checking of Gmail. Adium should too, having the checkbox for it.

I would like to see a Google Talk account option, or some Jabber option so that Adium will only try to talk to Google Talk users with that Jabber interface, because without server to server support, Google Talk is not Jabber.

I think it would be great to have this ability for mail notification on GTalk accounts.

Should this request be changed from an 'enhancement' to a 'bug', since the new Gtalk account type in 0.86 does have "Enable mail notifications" as an option, but it doesn't seem to work.

It should probably be changed to a bug since I enabled mail notifications for Google Talk, thinking this was the reason it was a separate service from Jabber, and they didn't work.
Also, a suggestion when this is implemented/fixed: is it possible to make a Growl notification for new mail show the sender and part of the subject? Also the time recieved if Adium would be checking at login.

(In [14732]) Libgaim-2.0.0 to r 211, including updates to current gaim source and support for Talk mail notifications. Fixes #1301.
Gmail notification would be cool to do either as a stand-alone option or as a flag for the jabber configuration.
