Failure of Yahoo Msg to connect via Adium when on an Exchange Server

Description
I am running Adium 1.3.5, and have already installed the debug version.
Adium, and my Yahoo account in particular, connect just fine when I'm n the same computer, but linked to my home wireless account.
The issue occurs when I am at work, on a university exchange server.
To remedy the problem (and you'll see this in the debug report I'm attaching), I have tried to change the Proxy tab. The first few runs are with "Connect using proxy" unchecked. The next are with "Connect using proxy" checked.
With "Connect using proxy" checked, only HTTP provides any results. With HTTP, some ports will result in an error (Socket not connected for port 5050); other ports result in recurring attempts to connect (as you'll see in the report for port 11).
I have been in touch with our IT folks, and they don't know how to proceed.
