Detached Groups don´t look right after a long time or restart

I have eight groups and have them in detached windows on the top of my screen, they are linked horizontally and I only have one of the groups expanded all of the time.

If I quit adium and restart it, some the groups disappear leaving behind odd looking unselectable lines (even if there are people connected) and if there aren't any people connected the group vanishes, that second part is probably not a bug but I'm not sure how to disable it.

With the first problem, if I go to preferences and toggle the window style to anything else and then revert back the problem is fixed, but it's a bit of an annoyance.
