Google Talk Mobile Contacts

With GMail's new SMS feature, it would be great if this could be integrated with Adium (an easy way to add a new mobile contact). It is currently possible using these instructions:  http://alex.sashalynne.com/?p=306, but it would be great if the "@sms.talk.google.com" was automated.

This might be a good opportunity to add a "New SMS Chat" menu item—just take in the phone number, message accordingly through AIM or Gtalk (presenting the option of course). Let's see if I can get any development done on this MBA.

This may also require changing now the AB applescript interfaces with Adium to send an SMS.

I don't have much experience with this feature yet, so how are replies handled? Will they appear as coming from +1XXXYYYZZZZ@…? Will that contact appear to be online?

One thing that I've found is that the recipient needs to reply to the first SMS before you are able to send another SMS. That may be tricky.
