Received Message may have not been sent because a timeout occurred

I consistently get messages within my chat windows with the message "Message may have not been sent because a timeout occurred". The exact message from the debug window is:

<user email address> replaces the actual email address.

15:29:32: adiumPurpleConvWriteConv: Received Message may have not been sent because a timeout occurred: from <user email address> [512]
15:29:32: *** Conversation error <AIChat: 0x1a1f8920>:MSN.<user email address>: Message may have not been sent because a timeout occurred:

Ideas why I continue to see these messages?
