escape key deletes message instead of just removing it

Description
Up to now, pressing the "esc"-key while typing a message simply deletes it.
Accidently pressing it (e.g. on a german keyboard where the ""-Keys are next to it) can be a huge drawback. It would therefore make sense if there was a way to get the text back, e.g. by pressing ALT-ESC or by storing the "deleted" message in the history.
