Crash setting Bonjour away message

Reported by: nurdc0re Owned by: evands
Milestone: Adium 1.4 Component: Service/Bonjour
Version: 1.4b1 Severity: normal
Keywords: Cc:
Patch Status:

Description

I seem to have run into a problem with setting custom away messages in Adium version 1.3.2 on Mac OS 10.5.5. I can reproduce it after a fresh boot, and it seems to happen when setting the away message for my Bonjour account. Originally, I was setting the away message text to  quote a webcomic as:

i FREEDOM FIGHTER
    BOMBING love you
 whether you reply
         or JIHAD not
          if my
           GODLESS WESTERN
                PRESIDENT
       letters are flagged
our love will outlive us
         in their SUBWAY
        SARIN GAS computers

The crash also occurs when replacing all of the text with X's but keeping the same line breaks. I have only tried this with AIM, Yahoo, and Bonjour but only Bonjour appears to be affected. Console only tells me "Exited abnormally: Segmentation fault" but I will attach the crashlog separately. No idea if this is useful, but I also have the machine specs:

Still happening in 1.3.5?

Changed 7 months ago by nurdc0re

Just went and tested it with the same away message and only Bonjour logged in and yes, it does still happen. Now with Adium 1.3.5 and OS 10.5.8. I'll attach another crash log in case it's helpful.

(In  61a5bc1a37d6) * Fix a crash if kDNSServiceErr_Invalid is returned by TXTRecordSetValue which occured because the %@ was being used for a C string
