Block and delete doesn't actually delete the contact

I've installed the latest BETA (= 1.3b1) and I still have a problem witch blocking contacts. When I block and delete a contact, this contact will come back at the next startup of Adium. When I delete this contact again, it now won't come back. Put in the log of the second start-up as a log, with specific calls of this contact.

I only use MSN! So I don't know if this is also for other platforms.....

Felipe, are you able to reproduce this using Pidgin? This might be something with how Adium handles the blocking and removal of a contact, and not directly in the pecan code...

I think this is the right place for me to report this? But I am using the latest build of adium 1.3.2b2 - and when I block and remove a contact, it actually does not do either of those things, until...... I sign out and back in again.

I've got the same problem! Opened a new ticket (sorry for that). ut The latest version still doesn't handle deleting MSN contacts right :(

As you can see the ticket is still open so no-one claims it's fixed...

Oke, I jus tested it again and now it seems to work a bit. It doesn't remove the contact in the same instant from the list, but after a few moments. I've copied the debug log and attached it to this ticket.

Just for confirmation: problem still remains in 1.3.3b2

I can't reproduce this. I selected a contact on my list, clicked Block, confirmed. The contact then showed as blocked. I then clicked the contact again, clicked Delete, and confirmed. The contact disappeared. I closed Adium and restarted. The contact remained gone.

What are you doing differently?

I think I know what I'm doing different: I'm always logged in with three MSN accounts and not just a single account.

I've added a new log. So situation: logged in with three msn accounts at the same time and deleting 1 contact. It states the delete is oke, but the contact still remains in my list. Only thing that has changed, is that the picture has been removed.

I am incredibly frustrated with my inability to delete contacts. I have done what is recommended here (except there is no delete contact option only "remove") and I have followed what is in the guide and nothing works. They continue to come back each time I restart Adium. I need a REAL solution here folks.

Try to delete them via the chat transcript viewer, that worked last time I wanted to delete someone.

I have looked at what I think you mean, but not everyone on my contact list has chatted with me. It seems that Adium pulls in contacts arbitrarily from my client contact list. These are people I don't chat with nor did I add them to my list. I can't get rid of them. I don't want to delete them from my email contact list, say at Yahoo, but I don't want them on my IM list of contacts. I have created groups, thrown them in there and then deleted the group and that hasn't solved it either. Shouldn't be this difficult.
