ICQ user icon does not change

Hi!

The ICQ Avatar does not change in any way and is not displayed. I already searched for similar posts, but as I am using Adium 1.3b9 whilst having some different trouble, I just posted a new one.

The 'defect' is simple. If I change the global symbol/avatar (or also the account related ones) it stays permanent on all ICQ accounts. AOL, MSN and Yahoo are adopting the chosen pictures instantly, but not ICQ.

I already tried to delete all temporary images found in the 'Application Support' folders of Adium and iChat. There is no way to delete the old symbol.

And to cap it all, I am sure that the ICQ users do not even see any symbol I set.

I am always adding myself to observe my status and my icons, so I see that this stays permanent.

I think it is important to change this, as far as I know from myself. We all have better recognition in images than in names and text. Right?

I hope you can do something about this.

Yes, I can confirm this is broken. A ticket has been filed at Pidgin's Trac:  #p6235.

I know someone is working on this as well as the status messages problem, finally! I have tried his work and the ICQ icon I set was propagated to the server.

He said he will submit patches when he thinks they're ready. So the good news is we have every reason to hope this will be fixed rather sooner than later. :)
