1.3b7 crash taking jabber account online

Reported by: raeburn Owned by: nobody
Milestone: Component: Adium Core
Version: 1.3b6 Severity: normal
Keywords: Cc:
Patch Status:

Description

After updating to 1.3b7 on my Leopard (10.5.4) Intel system, the first time I tried it, I found one account kept going online, reporting an XML parse error, going offline, going online again, etc. I took the account offline and started catching up on adium-devl traffic a bit, and looking at a couple existing tickets for more info, with the account offline. (The debug log said something about an XML parse error relating to vcard data and "not absolute", I think when getting data about a contact which was actually another account of mine. I took that one offline, but it didn't seem to help.)

I tried taking the account online again, and it crashed.

The available versions in the bug reporter need updating for 1.3b7.

Crash report implies one of your Address Book cards might be corrupt - it's crashing in Apple code while attempting to load a contact image. The debug log might help you figure out which contact it is so you don't have to start from scratch with the address book and copy over one contact at a time into a new one.

Either way this isn't an Adium bug as it's due to external events. You can also just avoid it altogether by turning off Address Book interaction in the Advanced prefs.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
