events use screenname, but status uses alias?

Description

In r23912...

I received two consecutive messages from a buddy. The first was that foo.screenname was no longer using encryption (messageclasses: encryption event) and the second was that bar.alias disconnected (messageclasses: status offline).

I'd expect them both to use the alias. Is the different behaviors intentional?
